On 5th June 2020, the General Secretariat of the Africa-France Summit, Digital Africa and the members of the jury of the “1000 Entrepreneurs Challenge” announced the winners of “1000 Entrepreneurs Challenge”. Our C.E.O, Neil Frank Yiga was among the selected winners!

The 1000 Entrepreneurs selected were invited to the Africa-France 2020 Summit which was due to start on June 4, 2020 in Bordeaux, France. Unfortunately, the circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic no longer allowed it to be held as planned.

The laureates, which our C.E.O is a part of, however benefited from a dedicated support program allowing them to have access to funding, training, networking and visibility for their projects. This program will be supported by a network of French and African partners, notably through mentoring, networking, grants, public and private funding.

Recognition and award ceremony:

On 7th October 2020, His Excellency Jules-Armand Aniambossou, the Ambassador of France to Uganda, invited 10 of the Uganda winners to a reception at his residence to honour the Ugandan winners of the 1000 African Entrepreneurs Challenge.

“The Embassy of France is committed to continue working with the Ugandan winners to facilitate their integration into useful networks of financing, mentoring and access to markets”, remarked H.E Jules-Armand in his address to the representatives of the 1000 Winners.

Mr. Patrick Bitature a successful entrepreneur and business man in Uganda, was the guest of honour. He shared the importance of G.R.I.T an acronym for; (Guts, Resilience, Initiative and Tenacity) for entrepreneurs to survive especially under given the business environment created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
