With a per capita income of under US$170 and 92% of the poor living in the countryside, Uganda today is one of the poorest countries in the world.

Affordable and Clean Energy

In Uganda, about 90% of the total primary energy consumption is generated through biomass.

Good health and wellbeing

W.H.O reports show about 20% of women and young children in Uganda die prematurely each year as a result of breathing fumes from indoor biomass sources.

Decent work and Economic growth

Decent work and Economic growth - In 2012, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics revealed that the share of unemployed youth (18-30 years) among the total unemployed persons in the country was 64%.

There is a direct correlation between SDG’s 1, 3, 7 & 8. At ANUEL ENERGY UGANDA, we believe NOW, is the perfect opportunity to harness the potential of sun by providing affordable and clean alternatives to lighting and phone charging, which will ensure decent work for the many especially youth and thereby contributing to better health and wellbeing in households leading to reduction and eventually elimination of poverty.
We do not intend to reinvent the wheel, we have the right solar energy technologies to work with. We are already in the rural communities testing this model and refining it.
