5 YEAR JOURNEY IN THE PROVISION OF AFFORDABLE & EFFECTIVE SOLAR SOLUTIONS.
“Anuel Energy Uganda has impacted 62,000 Ugandans over the last 5 years.” Announced an elated C.E.O. and Co-Founder of Anuel Energy – Frank Neil Yiga. “This milestone is all the more astounding considering the COVID-19 times we are all in and that our target was to reach 50,000 people by the end of 2020.”
Since 2015, this local based Ugandan solar company has through its activities reached 42,000 and 26,400 people in the household and institutional customer segments respectively – bringing the total to 62,400 people. As a direct contribution to environmental sustainability, over ninety three thousand (93,000) kerosene lamps were replaced with cleaner solar lamps and solar home systems which provide better light intensity and a lesser CO2 emission. This means, up to 234,990 Kgs of Carbon Dioxide are averted from the environment every year as a result of the renewable energy intervention.
“As a business, our long-term goal is to be the #1 partner of choice in the provision of affordable Household | Commercial | Institutional solar energy solutions in Uganda.” Frank Neil Yiga, C.E.O & Co-founder of Anuel Energy commented; “We are committed to helping our customers adopt clean energy solutions by working through our core staff, agents and sector partners both local and international. Anuel Energy aims to impact an extra 10,000 people by the end of 2020 through a partnership with UNCDF maintaining an overall goal of impacting 100,000 people by 2025.”
“UNCDF in partnership with the Embassy of Sweden in Uganda, is managing a Renewable Energy Challenge Fund (RECF). The programme is supporting over 20 renewable energy companies including Anuel Energy Uganda. The goal of RECF is to increase access to renewable energy for domestic, productive and social uses among the underserved rural households in Uganda. By the end of 2020, the programme aims to support over 150,000 low-income customers transition to renewable energy, of which 50% are women and 50% youth. RECF further aims to create over 1,300 new jobs especially for women and youth and offset at least 190,000 tonnes of co2 emissions by the end of 2020. The contribution of Anuel Energy to achieve these goals is noteworthy.” – Julius Magala, Energy Access Coordinator.
